DNR PFAS Technical Group

The PFAS Technical Group will include a presentation from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on innovative destructive technologies for PFAS-contaminated media and waste. The PFAS Technical Group is a working group designed as a forum to present and discuss information related to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Wisconsin, with an emphasis on presentations from entities outside of DNR. This group does not have an appointed membership; any interested party may attend.
The public is invited to participate and may ask questions or provide comments at this meeting. Questions may also be submitted in advance to DNRPFASInquiries@wisconsin.gov. Public Meeting On Vilas County CWD Response

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) staff and the County Deer Advisory Council of Vilas county will host a public meeting regarding the status of chronic wasting disease (CWD) and a response plan for sampling wild deer in Vilas County.
In December, a 3-year-old white-tailed doe tested positive for CWD in the Town of Lincoln in Vilas County. To better understand the prevalence and distribution of the disease in Vilas County, the DNR will be sampling additional deer in the area.
In partnership with County Deer Advisory Council members, DNR staff will discuss disease surveillance options in response to this detection of chronic wasting disease. DNR staff will be in attendance to provide information about the results of recent local CWD testing efforts and discuss sampling goals for this coming season.
The public is invited to give comments during the meeting. More information on CWD in Wisconsin can be found on the DNR website.

Government Committee of the Nonmotorized Recreation and Transportation Trails Council meeting

This will be the first meeting of the Government Committee of the Nonmotorized Recreation and Transportation Trails Council (NRTTC). NRTTC carries out studies and provides advice and consultation to the legislature, governor, Department of Natural Resources and Department of Transportation on all matters related to nonmotorized recreation and transportation trails, including trail planning, acquisition, development, maintenance and management. At this meeting, the Government Committee discussion is expected to include action items for 2022.
