Pursuant to section NR 514.045(3), Wis. Adm. Code, that the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has determined the plan of operation modification report submitted by WE Energies for the initial permitting of the Caledonia Ash Landfill (License #3232) and Pleasant Prairie Power Plant Ash Landfill (License #2786) is complete.
In accordance with the procedures of s. NR 514.045, Wis. Adm. Code, the plan of operation modification report is a proposed update to the approved plan of operation to comply with the applicable requirements under chs. NR 500 through 520, Wis. Adm. Code for CCR landfills. In 2022, sections of chs. NR 500 through NR 520, Wis. Adm. Code were updated for CCR landfills to meet federal CCR rule requirements. The Caledonia landfill is located in the N 1/2 of Section 1, T4N, R22E, Village of Caledonia, Racine County, Wisconsin. The Pleasant Prairie landfill is located in Section 9, Town 1 North, Range 22 East, in the Town of Pleasant Prairie, Kenosha County, Wisconsin.
Pursuant to section NR 514.045(3), Wis. Adm. Code, written comments by any person concerning the proposed plan of operation modification for initial permitting of the CCR landfill are invited. The Off-Road Vehicle Council provides advice and makes recommendations to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Department of Transportation, the governor and the legislature on all matters relating to all-terrain vehicle trails and all-terrain vehicle routes, including matters relating to activities conducted on all-terrain vehicle trails and all-terrain vehicle routes by all-terrain vehicle users and utility terrain vehicle users. It also makes recommendations to the DNR with regard to requests for funding.
The main focus of this meeting is to review grant applications and make recommendations to the DNR. The public will be invited to join the meeting via Zoom. The Zoom meeting link, agenda and other meeting materials are available on the ORV Council webpage.
