The Snowmobile Recreation Council carries out studies and makes recommendations to the Legislature, Governor, Department of Natural Resources and Department of Transportation on all matters related to the snowmobiling program at DNR or otherwise affecting snowmobiles and snowmobiling in Wisconsin, and makes recommendations to the department of natural resources about funding grant applications.
An ad hoc committee of the Snowmobile Recreation Council will meet to discuss storm damage requests as a result of the December 2022 ice and snow storms. The public will be invited to join the meeting via Zoom or in person. The Zoom meeting link, agenda, and other meeting materials are available on the Snowmobile Recreation Council web page.

The DNR Bear Advisory Committee consists of DNR staff along with representatives from external agencies, conservation and agricultural stakeholder groups and Ojibwe tribal representation. The committee meets to discuss issues relating to bear management in Wisconsin. Topics at this meeting will include a number of informational items and updates.
Members of the public who wish to provide comments related to bear management may do so. Each person will be allowed up to three minutes to speak and the public comment period will take place near the beginning of the agenda. Interested individuals should register to provide comment via an email to Randy.Johnson@wisconsin.gov no later than noon on March 1, 2023.

The DNR has a business need to receive constructive and practical input from and provide information to interested parties on a wide variety of regulatory and policy issues.
The RR EAG was formed to address a broad range of issues encompassing technical and policy topics related to encouraging the investigation, cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated sites.

Lake Michigan Lake Trout Commercial Harvest Stakeholder Group Meeting

The DNR is hosting four public meetings to present information and gather public feedback on the Lake Michigan lake trout population. The Lake Michigan lake trout commercial harvest stakeholder group, which consists of commercial fishers, anglers, charter fishers, wholesale fish dealers, restaurants and others interested in the Lake Michigan fishery, will be in attendance at each public meeting.
This first meeting will include an introduction to the stakeholder group and a lake trout survey assessment presentation. The public can join in person or virtually by preregistering via Zoom. More meeting information can be found on the DNR’s Lake Michigan Fisheries webpage.
Additional opportunities to provide input on and learn about Lake Michigan’s lake trout population will take place at Lakeshore Technical College’s Lake Michigan conference room on:
- Monday, March 20, 2023 at 6 p.m. focused on Lake Trout Mass Marking
- Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 6 p.m. focused on Lake Trout Population and Forecast Models
- Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 6 p.m. focused on Working Group Discussion and Input
