Sowing tree seeds is a reforestation alternative to planting seedlings on some sites. This approach requires specialized site preparation, an understanding of seeding methods and post seeding followup for the best chance of success.

Contact with a knowledgeable forester is required prior to ordering seed. An application form is available from DNR foresters or Reforestation staff.
