PFAS Technical Group
The PFAS Technical Group is a working group formed in 2021 to present and discuss information related to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Wisconsin, with an emphasis on presentations from entities outside of DNR.
The Wisconsin PFAS Action Plan, published in December 2020, emphasized a need for enhanced overall PFAS-related communication and collaboration. This included enhanced stakeholder engagement during the development of various initiatives and communication related to research, innovation and information in general. As a result of the broad spectrum of collaboration needs identified by the Wisconsin PFAS Action Council, the PFAS Technical Advisory Group that met in 2019 has evolved into two different groups. While the PFAS External Advisory Group is intended to solicit feedback on potential PFAS-related initiatives in Wisconsin, the PFAS Technical Group is intended to serve as an information-sharing hub to better inform those potential initiatives.
This group does not have an appointed membership; any interested party may attend. Meetings are open to the public. The group will generally meet on the same days as PFAS External Advisory Group meetings, with additional subgroup meetings scheduled as needed.

The PFAS Technical Advisory Group was a working group formed in 2019 to discuss issues related to PFAS in Wisconsin. The group did not have an appointment membership. The group aimed to:
- examine what, where, when and how PFAS is potentially impacting Wisconsin;
- discuss current and proposed practices amongst experts in the field;
- share regulatory updates associated with Wisconsin’s development of programs to manage PFAS;
- share technical data and expertise; and
- strategize on issues requiring solutions.
Various subgroups convened on specific PFAS topics including:
- fate and transport of PFAS;
- history and use of PFAS;
- waste and materials management; and
- water quality and wastewater.
