Camping
Camping at Tower Hill State Park
Canoeing and kayaking
Tower Hill State Park does not have a boat launch. The park borders the Wisconsin River and backwaters and is a popular place to explore by canoe or kayak.
Fishing
Fishing is available in the backwaters of the Wisconsin River. Fishing licenses apply.
Hiking
There are 2 miles of trails that meander through the park. Tower Hill is an excellent area for amateur bird watchers, offering a variety of habitat with riverbanks, deep woods and clearings.
- The segment from campsite 8 to the shot tower (0.3 miles) includes a gradual climb and two stairways.
- The segment from the shelter building to the shot tower (0.2 miles) is a steep uphill climb.
- The segment from the shot tower to the tunnel at the river bottom (0.2 miles) has long, steep stairways.
- The trail segment from the shelter to the gazebo is 0.25 miles.
- The Old Ox nature trail is 0.5 miles.
Hunting and trapping
Hunting and trapping are allowed in the open areas of the park during the Wisconsin state parks hunting and trapping time frame. Trapping is not permitted in closed areas as noted on the park hunting map or within 100 yards of any designated use area, including trails. In addition to the opportunities that are available during the state parks hunting/trapping time frame, hunting opportunities in state parks that were already established by rule and in place prior to the enactment of 2011 ACT 168, remain in place.
- At Tower Hill State Park, this includes archery deer hunting, which is allowed in the park from Oct. 15 through the Sunday nearest Jan. 6.
