Picnic Areas and Shelters
High Cliff State Park
High Cliff State Park has Four picnic areas with tables, grills, water and restrooms. Two picnic areas have playgrounds and swings. One of these is accessible for people with disabilities. A wooden playground is also available in the campground.
A universal playground is located at the upper day use area; shelters have routes of travel and are accessible.
High Cliff State Park Reservable shelters
High Cliff State Park offers a Gathering Space on top of the bluff overlooking Lake Winnebago and two open-air shelters in the lower part of the park that can be reserved for weddings and other group activities.
Reservations may be made up to 11 months in advance of your event. For reservations, see below. Please note the application form for the gathering space does not guarantee your reservation - the property office will notify you when your reservation has been confirmed. Vehicle admission stickers are required on all vehicles.
Gathering Space
The High Cliff State Park Gathering Space is located in the upper part of the park, overlooking Lake Winnebago and within walking distance of the observation tower. Rental of the Gathering Space includes an enclosed shelter building (formerly called the pavilion) and the adjacent open shelter. The enclosed shelter building features a centrally located fireplace (provide your own firewood) and accommodates up to 100 people. Larger group reservations of the Gathering Space are subject to superintendent approval.
The Gathering Space is available for reservation from May 1 through Oct. 15. Rental fee rates are determined by user group classifications and day/time of the week.

Lower Shelter
The lower shelter (28 x 28 feet) is in the lower park. The lower shelter is an open shelter with electrical hook-up and accommodates up to 35 people. This shelter overlooks the marina and is within walking distance of the beach and beach house bathrooms.

Pines Shelter
The pines shelter (26 x 20 feet) is in the lower park. The pines shelter is an open shelter and accommodates up to 35 people. In 2015, half of the shelter was enclosed for storage. The public does not have access to the concessions window. This shelter is tucked amongst the pines and is within walking distance of the beach and beach house bathrooms.
