Water use fee calculator for withdrawers in the Great Lakes basin

This calculator is for estimation purposes only. Actual fees will be assessed based on the water withdrawal volume reported to the DNR. To pay your fees, the DNR will send an invoice after you have submitted your annual water use report.

Withdrawers in the Mississippi River Basin will be assessed the $125 base fee for any volume of water withdrawn.

Note the fee for small businesses is capped at $1,125. See ch. 227.114, Wis. Stats. [exit DNR].

For properties that straddle the Great Lakes Basin divide, the Great Lakes Basin Fee only applies to withdrawals from the basin.
