Construction site storm water permit data
Search the DNR database for information on Notices of Intent and construction site storm water permit coverage.
Notices of Intent to discharge*
Look here to find construction site Notices of Intent (NOI) received by the DNR that generally have not yet been authorized permit coverage. The department has 14 working days to review the NOI and may ask to evaluate the applicant's erosion control and storm water management plans. The DNR can also withhold permit coverage if there are concerns about the protection of water quality, wetlands, endangered species, historical/archaeological sites, or other resources.
Construction site permit coverage*
Search here for facilities that have obtained construction storm water permit coverage from the DNR . This search does not provide any information on the status of facilities with non-storm water (wastewater) permit coverage. If you do not find the information you are searching for, try the search under Notices of Intent to Discharge described above.
Public comments and permit coverage
The DNR will consider all public comments that it receives with respect to Notices of Intent for construction site storm water permits. In accordance with s. NR 216.44, Wis. Stats., applicants submitting a construction site NOI to the DNR are automatically granted coverage under the Storm Water Construction Site General Permit No. WI-S067831 after 14 working days, unless the department notifies the applicant to the contrary. Public comments should be sent to the department's regional storm water contact as soon as possible to have them considered prior to authorization of permit coverage within the 14-working day period.
Copies of Notices of Intent
If you want to obtain a copy of a project site's WRAPP, track the documents via water permit applications or contact the appropriate regional storm water contact.
