Remote camping
Governor Knowles State Forest offers nine primitive campsites along the hiking trails. Reservations are required and a free special camp registration permit can be obtained by emailing the forest headquarters at least 7 days prior to occupying the site.
Firewood
Natural wood from the forest may be gathered for use in your campfire as long as it is both dead and on the ground. Bundles of firewood are for sale in the family campgrounds or from vendors within the forest.
