    New Baiting And Feeding Ban In Effect For Taylor County Beginning Sept. 1, 2021

    The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) received notification from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection that a farm-raised deer on a deer farm in Taylor County tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD). With this new CWD-detection, Taylor County is now considered a CWD-affected county.

    Incidental Take Notice For Juneau County

    The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) proposes to issue a permit for the incidental taking of a rare snake, which may result from the Cranberry Creek and Wisconsin River Power Company (WRPCO) ditch maintenance project. Incidental take refers to the unintentional loss of individual endangered or threatened animals or plants that does not put the species' overall population at risk.

    Gov. Evers Announces NOAA Designation For Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary Moves Forward

    MADISON, Wis. – Gov. Tony Evers today announced that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will publish the final rule for the designation of the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary on June 23, 2021. The designation will take effect following a review by the governor and Congress over a 45-day period of continuous session of Congress.
