Get Set For Summer With Wisconsin Natural Resources Magazine
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that the summer issue of Wisconsin Natural Resources magazine is now available in print and online. Learn about great things happening around the state and get ready for summer with the latest issue.
The cover story focuses on an important but underappreciated resource, Wisconsin’s grasslands – essential areas for habitat, clean water, recreation and more. Often yielding to development and row-crop agriculture, their footprint keeps shrinking in the state, but efforts such as conservation grazing are helping to change that. Find out more about what’s “Good for grasslands” in the summer issue.
Fishing ranks as a favorite summer pastime in Wisconsin, and the latest magazine has plenty on that topic. Learn about everything from angling by paddlecraft and Great Lakes charter boat, to interesting research on fish genetics, to details on a fishing bootcamp for aspiring fisheries professionals.
And there’s plenty of other great content in the summer issue:
- Get outside with your four-legged friends at pet-friendly places to explore.
- Find places to paddle on several Wisconsin water trails.
- Learn to identify Wisconsin trees.
- Check out the butterfly guide to enjoy these beautiful insects.
- Learn how to get rid of certain invasive plants.
