Bees, Blooms and Your Native Garden Workshop

Pollinator gardening is on the rise as “wild” gardens have become a trend. Join Master Gardener Jennifer Lazewski on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m.-noon for a presentation and garden design workshop. Help pollinators thrive with native plants and continuous blooms! Travel through the seasons from spring to fall, learning about native bees, how to identify them, and the native plants that support them.

Immediately following the presentation, you are invited to join Jennifer and DNR staff for a hands-on native garden planning workshop. We will provide a grid and plant templates to help you create your native garden masterpiece. If possible, please bring a Google Earth printout of your yard, along with the desired area's space dimensions, lighting and soil type. We would love to offer suggestions and ideas to help transform your yard into a pollinator paradise!

As a special perk for workshop participants, the pre-order sale for our Wildflowers for Wildlife native plant sale will be held open a few days extra for those that would like to order plants. You can find the pre-order form here.

Jennifer Lazewski has been a Master Gardener Volunteer in Milwaukee County since 2015. She focuses on native plants and gardening for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. Jennifer is also a Master Naturalist who volunteers in land management and community science projects such as the Bumble Bee Brigade. She continues to expand the native habitat in her urban Wauwatosa yard and learn more about the different insects, birds and other wildlife that live in it.
