All programs begin at the Sanderling Nature Center.

7:30 & 9 a.m.: Bird Hikes
Bring your binoculars and join experienced birders who will lead easy morning bird hikes in the park. 45 min. each.

10 a.m.: Raptors
See live birds of prey up close! Jeannie Lord of Pine View Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Fredonia will show you live birds, describe their habits and amazing adaptations, and recount the many threats they face.

11 a.m.: Bugs
More than 85% of all species of animals are insects. Learn about the variety, natural history, survival strategies, ecological importance and beauty of these misunderstood creatures from Kate Redmond, aka the Bug Lady. Trail walk or indoor presentation depending on the weather!

1 p.m.: Birds
North America has lost nearly 3 billion breeding birds since 1970. Join Dr. Jennifer Phillips-Vandenberg to learn how to help birds and reverse these declines with seven simple actions.

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Art Demonstration
Kelly Wendorf creates exquisite designs with her paper-cutting that evoke the magic of the natural world. See examples of her work and watch as she demonstrates her paper-cutting technique.

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Craft Workshop
Join the fun at this hands-on kid’s craft, featuring a nest ball or flying bird craft. All supplies provided.

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Native Habitat Improvement Project
Johnson’s Nursery, Menomonee Falls, will provide a display of native plants for residential properties. Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory will answer questions about incorporating native plants into your yard to help the vulnerable birds, butterflies and pollinators.
