Description
This three-session class begins virtually and will prepare you for ice fishing with members of the UW-Madison Ice Fishing Club and Team. We’ll wrap up our in-person ice fishing outing with a demo of how to clean your catch of the day. In the virtual portion of the class, you’ll learn about Wisconsin’s diverse fisheries, ice fishing gear, where to find fish and how to prepare your catch for the table. All gear and supplies are provided.
The sessions are:
- Wednesday & Thursday Feb. 16 - 17, 2022 (Virtual Sessions on Zoom)
- 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 19 (Fishing at Lake Wingra at Wingra Park)
- 8:30 a.m. – Noon
Fishing licenses can be waived for those with fewer than two years of fishing experience who attend both virtual sessions. Participants opting for the waiver must obtain a DNR Customer Identification number and include it on the registration form. Once registration is received, you'll receive login information via email.
This course is free of charge. However, we ask for a $15 refundable commitment deposit to reserve your spot. This will be returned to you after the first session.
