Wisconsin Conservation Congress

The Wisconsin Conservation Congress Executive Committee consists of five members elected by the District Leadership Council annually in May. The Executive Committee works with the District Leadership Council on all natural resource issues of citizen concern.

Rob Bohmann was re-elected to the chair position of the WCC (he also served as the Chair from 2011-2016 and Vice-Chair from 2007-2011). Rob has been a WCC delegate for 20 years and during that time he’s been the Chair of the WCCs Deer 2000 Review Ad Hoc Committee, Outreach & Public Relations Committee, and the Vice-Chair of YCC Oversight Committee. Rob is an avid outdoorsman, holds a U.S. Coast Guard captains license and is an outfitter for whitetail hunting.

Paul Reith was elected Vice Chairman of the Wisconsin Conservation Congress in 2024 and re-elected this year as a Dane County Delegate, serving his county for over a decade.

Paul has been instrumental in advancing the WCC's operations, championing online input for the spring hearings and assisting with the move to online submission for new resolutions. He strives to ensure that the WCC remains a responsive and effective body for conservation advocacy in Wisconsin and strongly supports in-person participation where possible while broadly increasing citizen access with online alternatives.

Raised in Clark County, an alumnus of UW-Eau Claire, and with a lifetime of recreation in Sawyer County, Paul understands how perceptions, concerns and goals are diverse within our state. With his wife Magdalena, children Claire and Sawyer and Small Munsterlander dog Ruby, the family enjoys camping in at least six different Wisconsin state parks yearly.

Paul is a member of KLM-GNA, Sierra Club, Dane County Conservation League, The Environmental Defense Fund, an associate member of the Wisconsin Conservation Warden Association and a Girl Scout volunteer.

Reed Kabelowsky was elected to serve as Secretary of the Conservation Congress. Reed is confident in his written skills and wants to support the Congress in this role.

Reed has been on the Congress for 11 years and has been a District 8 Leadership Councilor for the last year. Reed is presently Vice Chair of the Youth Conservation Congress Oversight Committee and Secretary of the Mississippi River Advisory Committee. Reed has also served on Rules and Resolutions, Turkey and Upland Game, Migratory, Outdoor Heritage and Education.

Serving and encouraging youth is a passion and Reed is active in planning for YCC events and fundraising. Reed represents the Youth Zone on the Waterfowl Hunters’ Expo Steering Committee and helps to link the YCC and WCC to this important event. Reed has a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Management and Environmental Law Enforcement from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

Reed spends his time fishing, hunting, hiking and enjoying the resources of our fantastic state. Reed is passionate about the work and potential of the Wisconsin Conservation Congress and engaging the public to plan for the wise use of our natural resources. The future of the WCC is bright and thriving and it is our job to make the same true about our state and our residents.

Terri Roehrig was re-elected to the Executive Committee for the 2024-2025 term. She has served on the Executive Committee for the last four years. She has served as Vice Chair in two of her four years on the Executive Committee. Terri has been the District 5 Leadership Councilor for the last six years. She has served in different committee roles, including Chair of the Relevancy Committee, Chair of the Resolution Review Committee, Chair of Ad Hoc Spring Hearings Resolutions and Delegate Elections Committee, Secretary of the CDAC Oversight Committee, Chair of the Outreach and Public Relations Committee and Chair of Strategic Plan Committee. She has also served on committees, including Youth Conservation Congress Oversight, Deer and Elk, and Bear. She represented WCC on the Deer Stakeholder Committee in 2020. Terri has also participated several times as an interview panelist for interviews for key positions within the DNR including the new State Deer Biologist and local wildlife biologists. She is a Youth Conservation Congress mentor for two young ladies from Eau Claire and Trempealeau counties. Terri has been the Chair of the Buffalo County delegation for the last two years and served as vice chair for four years. She is the Chair of the Buffalo County CDAC and has served for many years as the Alt Chair. Terri received the WCCs 2012 Conservation Educator of the Year award and the 2021 David A. Ladd Delegate of the Year awards at the annual WCC conventions.

Terri is currently the First Vice President of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation. She has served as Second Vice President for one year and as Secretary for two years. Terri is currently a BOD and treasurer for Mondovi Conservation Club. She was awarded the Member of the Year in 2021. She has been a hunter safety instructor for over 18 years. She serves as secretary for the Buffalo County Conservation Alliance since 2018. Terri is also a life member of Alma Rod and Gun Club. Terri is a current member of St. Anna Sportsman's club. She has served on St. Anna/Outdoors banquet committee for over 10 years. Before moving to Buffalo County in 2015, Terri served on the District Leadership Council for District 8 from 2014-2015 and was a delegate for Calumet County from 2012-2015. She served as vice president of the Calumet County Sportsman's Alliance in 2014. Terri served on the BOD for Oxbow Sportsman's Club and ran the Learn-to-Hunt Pheasant Programs for Oxbow. She also started the Learn-to-Hunt Pheasant program for St. Anna Sportsman's Club. Starting in 2012, she supported the Taking Wing Stewardship Program and their Learn to Turkey Hunt program and facilitated the Hunter Safety portion of the program. She also mentored many youths on a spring turkey hunt.

She spends her time outdoors enjoying working on habitat management, fishing and hunting. She especially loves working her German Shorthaired Pointers on a good upland game hunt.

Eugene W. Altwies has been a Conservation Congress Delegate for 16 years. He previously chaired the Ad Hoc Rule Simplification Committee for two years and is currently the Secretary of the Great Lakes Committee.

In addition, he has served on the Congress District Leadership Council for four years and has been a member of the Warm Water, Trout and Resolution Review committees.

He is passionate about the Congress's resolution process and consults with resolution authors each spring.

Previously, he was a working member of the Wisconsin DNR Bass Team. He was the program chair for the Twin Cities Chapter of Trout Unlimited and, for the last four years, has been the Head Coach for the Badger (high school) Trap Shooting Team. 

A lifelong competitive sailor on the Great Lakes, he is a member of the Old Goat Society. He is also an avid Lake Michigan fisherman. He is a member of Pheasants Forever, Trout Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Back Country Hunters and Anglers.

His passion is pursuing elk and whitetails, both by a vertical bow and rifle. He is an active member of the Powers Lake Sportsmen Club and also serves as the Secretary of the Parker Lake Association in Oxford, WI.
