WET laboratory certification
All laboratories performing WET testing for WPDES permit compliance are required to be certified or registered under ch. NR 149, Wis. Adm. Code. Because high quality data is important when making sound environmental decisions, the laboratory certification program establishes minimum requirements for laboratories that, when followed, result in traceable and well-documented data. In order for a laboratory to apply for certification or registration for acute and chronic WET testing, the laboratory must submit a completed application to the laboratory certification program and complete an on-site evaluation.
NOTE: Please be aware that although certified to conduct WET tests, the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene does not perform WET tests commercially for hire for use by permittees to meet WPDES requirements.
