Whitcomb Creek Fishery Area

DNR Fisheries Areas

The Whitcomb Creek Fishery Area is located in the Forest Transition Ecological Landscape of northwest Waupaca County. Three branches of Whitcomb Creek form the stream. After these branches join they flow east and join the Little Wolf River.

The 128 acres Keller Whitcomb Creek Woods State Natural Area is located in the Whitcomb Creek Fishery Area at T 42N, R 12E, Section 5.

Location/Directions

The Whitcomb Creek Fishery Area is located in scattered parcels in northwest Waupaca County. One parcel is located in T 25N, R 12E, Section 34. Several other parcels can be found in T 24N, R 12E, sections 3, 5, 8, and 12.

Objective

The Whitcomb Creek Fishery Area is managed to provide trout fishing opportunities to the public while preserving trout spawning habitat, to sustain forests and protect and enhance water quality.
