Roelke Creek
Roelke Creek (Class I trout stream) and Middle Branch Duck Creek (Class III trout stream) flows through this 40 acre Fishery Area in the Town of Wyocena. Public access is provided by parking on the side of the road along Schliesmann Rd. or Waters Rd. and walking into the Fishery Area.

Location/Directions

Take County Hwy G east from Hwy 22 in the village of Wyocena approximately 3.6 miles to Schliesmann Road, turn right (south) and proceed approximately 0.75 miles to where Middle Branch Duck Creek crosses Schliesmann Rd. Continue an additional 0.15 mile south to where Roelke Creek crosses Schliesmann Rd.

Objective

Roelke Creek Fishery Area is managed to:

  • retain the Class I (Roelke Creek) and Class III (Duck Creek) trout stream designations;
  • promote pre-settlement plant communities and improved habitat quality for wildlife; and
  • maintain current uses and access to the properties.
